Now Galán speaks: I am a person who flees from controversy
Galán tells about his breakup with Juan Lebron
In an interview with the Spanish radio station Cadena COPE, Galán reveals the reasons that led him to put an end to this successful partnership with Lebron following the scandal in the Premier Padel tournament in Doha where Lebron first threw a ball after an opponent after going into a harsh argument with the opponents, their coach and the referee.
"I am a person who flees from controversy. It is easy to explain; it is natural. Couples sometimes break up. It is something simple. It is not a sporting decision. Juan and I have marked a history in the padel that will be remembered. And that's what I'm going to take."
"I left the court with a bad feeling about what happened. It was unpleasant for everyone. It was a challenging day. I went home sad and quickly, on the first flight I could catch. At the airport, he apologized. I was still generally angry. We didn't have a long conversation."
The last training session was cold
"The last training session was cold, and we spoke in person afterward. It was a deep talk. We have been together as teammates for many years. We told each other what we thought and agreed that we wanted to finish well. We are very young and have been improving, but I had to finish the project.
"It is like a romantic couple. We have been overcoming difficulties. Last year was not good due to Juan's injury. We talked about what we needed to continue, and we overcame our problems. That's the Juan Lebron I will take.”
